Stress, Anxiety, Phobias & Depression
“You can analyse the past but you have to design the future” Edward de Bono
Stress is all around us. It’s become normal part of daily life. But over time, its effects can become taxing, both mentally and physically. Stress becomes a problem when you feel overwhelmed by its challenges. And though it may be difficult to define, that doesn’t mean it’s all in your head. Researchers have found that significant biological changes take place in the body during periods of stress. And extended periods of stress can cause destructive changes in the body, such as depression and a suppressed immune system, which can eventually lead to heart disease, cancer, and stroke. So if you are feeling stressed out, its time to get some relief. Learn about stress: how to identify it, and how to find relief.
Anxiety
Some degree of anxiety is perfectly normal. We all experience situations that make us fearful and apprehensive. However, there are some people who feel anxious even when there is no discernible cause. In these cases, the anxiety usually becomes overwhelming and may interfere with day to day functioning. People who regularly have a debilitating level of anxiety are suffering from an anxiety disorder.
Depression
Some people have described depression as a heavy black curtain of despair that envelops their lives. Depression affects your life, and the lives of those around you. It can severely disrupt how you function, eat, sleep, and get along with others. Although most people who suffer from depression feel as though they are suffering alone, roughly 20% of the American population suffers from depression. Depression is a disease, and like any other disease, it can be treated and managed.
The link between emotional issues and physical health
You will know intuitively that worrying interferes with recovery when you are ill, and research is building up to demonstrate this, along with a growing body of evidence of the interaction between our emotions and physical functioning. Not just problems like headaches and palpitations which most of us know are caused by worry, anxiety and stress, but serious chronic illnesses including heart disease and gastrointestinal problems. When people with these illnesses have untreated anxiety, medication and treatments for the illness don’t work so well, and symptoms might become worse.
Depression, stress and anxiety are very common; most of us suffer one or other at some time in our lives. It is normal. They make us feel slow, tired and unmotivated. Doing anything can feel such an effort. We get short-tempered, sullen, resentful, overwhelmed. We find it impossible to relax.

Help You Manage Chronic Pain
Hypnosis used for pain control and pain management offers help where medication and alternative medicine have failed. Though not suitable for every single case of chronic pain, or for everyone who suffers from it, hypnosis pain management has helped many to control their pain and live a more comfortable life. In hypnosis, and then through self-hypnosis, the person suffering from ongoing pain is taught to alter the brain’s perception of the pain message, to turn down its intensity.
All hypnosis is, essentially, self hypnosis and once you have experienced the trance state, it’s a relatively simple matter to learn to re-entre it at will and reap the benefits.
